About this game: NIGHTFALL
Answer the broadcast. Win the night.
An original one on one arcade fighter. At 3:33 every night a pirate broadcast names two fighters and a place in Meridian City. Eight fighters, four arenas, special moves, combos, a SIGNAL gauge for EX moves and BREAKERs, and the BLACKOUT, a finish that cuts the picture to static. An arcade ladder, versus the computer, local versus, an online duel by link and a full training room, on a keyboard, a pad or a touch screen.

What you get
- Eight original fighters, each with their own specials, command moves, combo routes and a rival waiting at the top of their arcade ladder
- Played on a keyboard, a pad or a touch screen held sideways: two step motions that never ask for three buttons at once, a generous input buffer and moves written as frame data, so what the command list says is what plays
- A SIGNAL gauge that pays for EX specials and BREAKERs, counter hits and punishes, throws and throw breaks, and parries for those who read the opponent
- The BLACKOUT: when the deciding knockout leaves the loser reeling, four seconds to finish it with a staged cut to static

- ControllerThe d-pad or the left stick moves, X and Y punch, A and B kick, LB throws, RB is SIGNAL and Menu pauses. Every button can be rebound, and a second pad takes player 2 in local versus.
- TouchOn a touch screen the pad appears when the fight starts: the stick under your left thumb walks, jumps, crouches and guards (hold back), and the six buttons under your right are light and heavy punch, throw, light and heavy kick, and SIGNAL. Hold the stick and press buttons with as many fingers as you like, and roll a thumb from one button to the next for a chain. Hold the phone sideways.

Before you play
Do I need to know fighting games already?
No. Every special is two directions and a button, the command list shows the exact keys you bound, and the training room teaches each fighter's combos one step at a time, with a demonstration whenever you ask for one.
Can I play against a friend?
Yes, side by side or over the internet. Local versus puts player 1 on W A S D with J K L I U O and player 2 on the arrows with the numpad; one pad takes player 2, two pads take a seat each, and every key and button can be rebound under Controls. For an online duel, create a link in the menu and send it: your friend opens it in a browser, each of you picks a fighter unseen, and you fight as many matches as you like. Online matches are not recorded.
What is the BLACKOUT?
When a knockout would decide the match, the loser reels instead of falling. For four seconds the winner can press down, down and SIGNAL inside their range to play a short staged finish that cuts the broadcast to static. It is stylised, never gory.
